Russia’s best engineers work at Metalloinvest
Metalloinvest employees Sergey Kobzar, Chief Mechanic at Mikhailovsky GOK, and Irek Khadiyev, head of OEMK’s electrical equipment diagnostics lab, have won the All-Russia Engineer of the Year 2018 competition. They were awarded certificates, a commemorative Laureate of the Competition medal, and their names have been added to the Professional Engineers registry of Russia.
Andrey Ugarov, First Deputy CEO, COO of Management Company Metalloinvest, said: “Important technological changes are currently taking place at Metalloinvest, such as a transformation of its business processes and the introduction of business-system tools. Employees of the Company’s enterprises are motivated to search for creative techniques and implement their engineering ideas in practice. We are very pleased that our joint victories have been recognised at an industry and state level.”
Sergey Kobzar was recognised for his high level of professionalism in all aspects of equipment repair which are required in all production areas, including iron ore mining and processing, vehicle and rail transportation, steel making and mechanical engineering.
Mikhailovsky GOK’s Chief Mechanic leads the development of new repair and reconstruction methods for machinery units and parts. He has also co-authored invention patents for a conveyor belt tensioning device and vehicle body liner utility models.
Sergey Kobzar is an active participant in the Factory of Ideas corporate project. He has developed tens of proposals alongside other specialists at the enterprise which have been approved for use. The engineer’s ideas aim to improve production processes, reduce operating costs and increase the time between equipment overhauls.

Irek Khadiyev’s professionalism, experience and expertise have been repeatedly recognised through awards, including the Metalloinvest badge of honour, the title of Best Engineer at OEMK and the Belgorod regional competition Engineer of the Year 2017.
